June 6–8, Red Light Arts & Culture presents four free concerts as part of the Red Light Jazz Festival hosted at The Brokers Bar at Meet Berlage, at the PIC, and the garden of Restaurant Bellezza.
Join us for a weekend of intimate performances where jazz meets folk, improvisation, and emotional depth. Featuring Sanne Sanne, David Saruchanov Trio, Federica Lorusso Trio, and River Adomeit & Līva Dumpe (of Flatland Prayer), each act offers a fresh take on contemporary jazz – thoughtful, bold, and deeply rooted in the neighbourhood’s creative spirit.
All our artists either live in the area or have been connected to the neighbourhood in several ways (working, previous resident, studying). Italian jazz pianist and singer, Federica Lorusso, is based right here in de Wallen. She will be playing with her trio selections from her most recent albums “Incontri” (release Feb. 2025, ZenneZ Records) and “Outside Introspections” (2022, debut), as well as new material! River Adomeit (double bass) and Līva Dumpe (voice) are artists with Red Light Arts & Culture. They have been performing together for over three years as part of folk/improv trio Flatland Prayer. Now, they’ll be playing material from the trio’s first album, Like Staring Straight into the Sun (2024), as well as selections from their upcoming release in January 2026 through Keep an Eye: The Records – of which they are the 2025 winners. With acclaimed performances at TivoliVredenburg and Bimhuis under their belts, this duo will bring their signature sound to the festival.

Amsterdam-based pianist and composer, David Saruchanov, leads his trio with Ton Felices on double bass and Wouter Kühne on drums. Known for his rich harmonic language and emotionally charged playing, David brings a distinct voice to contemporary jazz, balancing detailed composition with spontaneous improvisation. This trio presents original material from David’s latest projects and some new works, blending lyrical melodies with rhythmic complexity, and offering listeners a sound that is both exploratory and grounded.
