“MARBLED JAZZ” – jazz music & live painting
Imagine the music is translated into a poetic visual language. “Marbling” is a painting method of an aqueous surface design that resembles patterns found in nature. Lorenzo’s live musical improvisations will lead the patterns of water by Seçil’s artistic vision. Every note of musical melody will turn into a piece of visual artwork to look at and maybe hear the music.
Seçil and Lorenzo met each other in 2020 and started exchanging art experiences of their own. They shared the same small space to make music & art, which naturally affected the process, approach and outcome of it. They filmed their first try out artwork they made together to show others and got a lot of reactions. It was Lorenzo playing his composition at the background and Seçil was drawing it on the music sheet. They say “We make art at the end but we would also like to show what togetherness is.”
Lorenzo & Seçil live in the Red Light District.
Lorenzo Servali (b. 1998) is a composer and double bass player, currently completing his studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and performs internationally. Since 2022, he is the bandleader of Imprevisti.

“Duo Canopée” (Laura Rouy, Guitar & Pauline Ngolo, Cello)
Duo Canopée was born from the meeting of two musicians, Laura Rouy (classical guitarist) and Pauline Ngolo (cellist). While pursuing their degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, they decided to explore together the mixed sounds of their instruments.
The Canopée Duo’s unusual line-up is an attempt to break the stereotype that the guitar is confined to an accompaniment role while the cello sings. They prove that both instruments have a harmonic and melodic function. The Duo Canopée performs a repertoire full of contrasts, soft and light but also full of spirit and character. This young duo wishes to create sensitive musical experiences and share their passion for music.

SATURDAY, MARCH 18, 2023 (event is in Dutch)
Kopje Onder is a two-piece band consisting of Jona Bosman and Nicole Kaandorp, a guitar, recently a synthesiser, and a lot of lyrics. Together, they make narrative Dutch songs about networking drinks, croissants, booze and world issues. They are currently working on a new EP to be released in early 2023, with tasty electronic sounds and spoken lyrics. The first single from this EP was released in December 2022: “Back to the Gym”, an ode to the time when you didn’t have to think about the social consequences of being queer, but could just stare at the gym teacher in love.
Kopje Onder has played at Explore the North, Stukafest, the Queer Film Festival Utrecht, at TapasTheater and especially often at literary evenings, among others.
